在近来创作的《大楼》系列、《神舟计划》系列、《驱逐舰》系列等艺术作品中，我们能发现坎勒放弃了过去对永恒、普遍的精神世界的表现，而转向对当代世界中国家权力与实力之间的关系的思考。在坎勒的这一艺术转向中，尤其值得注意的是，他把当代社会发生的重大事件引入艺术创作中，从而使艺术在回应社会事件的过程中，不仅获得了艺术意义的确定性和指向性，同时也为他探索新的艺术表达方式提供了依据。从坎勒近期创作的这批艺术作品看，我认为他在意义的开拓和新的艺术语言的探索两方面，都超越了他过去的艺术而进入到了一个全新的艺术阶段。
以近似肖像的构图描绘这些权力之物，是坎勒这批作品的独特性之一。这一艺术方式加强了对象的视觉冲击力，也使对象的权力具有一种表面的扩张性。我之所以说它是表面的，是因为从坎勤的艺术语言看，断裂的形式组合，焚烧的质感，近乎诱斑的肌理，使它们拥有了一种解构和侵蚀权力之物的能量。就此而论，在坎勒的这批作品中，权力之物并非永恒之物，崇高之物，而是世俗生活的一种需要之物，即它因普通人的膜拜或恐惧而成为权力的象征。从这一角度看，坎勒几乎是用弗洛伊德所说的用爱与恨的矛盾心态对待父亲那样来表达这些权力之物的。

1995年结业于中央美术学院。
现任中南大学艺术学院副教授，中国美术家协会会员，居住于北京与长沙。

Kan Le
Born in 1962 in Changde City, Hunan Province; graduated from the College of Fine Arts in Hunan Normal University in 1984, completed a diploma course in Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1995, Mr. Kan Le is now an associate professor of the College of Arts in Central South University. As a member of China Artists' Association, he resides in Changsha but travels to Beijing very often.
