中国学院实验艺术教育大会内容

中国美术教育的现代系统在五四新文化运动之后开始酝酿生长,发展至今,不断充实、更新着它实在的内涵。曾经长期以来实行的西方写生方法与写实造型为基础,及其“革命现实主义与浪漫主义相结合”创作思想指导下的艺术教育目标,在改革开放之后的三十年期间演绎成为具有中国特色的文化艺术多元化壮阔景观。实验艺术逐渐在中国当代文化艺术主流中显现出不可或缺的地位,并受到国际性的关注与肯定。与艺术教育改革开放的进程相适应,实验艺术的思想方法与工作方法,也逐渐成为专业艺术院校课堂内外可持续发展的学术内容,并且由着其在专业艺术院校广泛、全面、普遍的实验性艺术实践,向着实验艺术专业化教学的方向发展,当前已然成为当代艺术教育格局中不可动摇的教学板块。

 

正值中国艺术教育的改革逐步趋向成熟完善的关键时期,为梳理现当代艺术的理论及艺术实践的国际性经验,建立实验艺术在当代艺术教育中的学术性结构,开辟中国式的国际化的艺术创作可行性路径,中央美术学院将在2011年4月28日——5月1日主持召开“中国学院实验艺术教育大会”并举办“和而不同——第二届学院实验艺术文献展”,陈述与展示近十年来中国高等艺术院校中实验艺术专业教育这一普遍事实的重要成果,并为它的进一步建设与完善,提供一个交流的平台。

 

为了本次会议,本校实验艺术系师生选择有代表性的国家直属专业美术学院、综合性大学中的艺术分院、以及地方性专业美术学院近20所,进行了为期一年的“中国高等美术院校实验艺术专业教学现状的考察”项目,会议期间,我们将在在现状考察的基础上,与大家一起归纳问题、总结经验、综合智慧、分享成果,争取就学院实验艺术专业教育现状的诸多基本学术问题达成共识、共同推进。在国际当代多元文化艺术的背景下,以中国深厚传统文化土壤为立足,以学术的、学院的、理性的理念,推进实验艺术学科建设有序、有效的发展。

 

About the China Experimental Art Institutional Education Symposium

 

The modern Chinese art education system emerged after the May 4th New Culture Movement in 1919, and has since undergone many changes. It had long been based on Western painting practices and the realist style, and aimed at merging “revolutionary realism with romanticism.” Three decades after China’s economic reform, art education in the country now reflects cultural diversities with Chinese characteristics. Chinese experimental art is now considered indispensible in the mainstream of Chinese contemporary culture and art, and receives considerable attention and recognition from the international community. Experimental art theories and practices have become a crucial component of China’s art education, and are developing into a specialized field within art institutes.

 

China’s art education is currently undergoing a critical period of reforms towards a more sophisticated system. To introduce international expertise in modern and contemporary art theories and practices, establish experimental art in the academic structure of contemporary art education, and develop a Chinese way of creating internationalized art, the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) will host the China Experimental Art Institutional Education Symposium and organize Harmonious Differences – Second Experimental Art Exhibition from April 28th to May 1st, 2011. The events are to demonstrate the accomplishments of China’s fine art institutes in experimental art education during the last decade, and to provide a discussion platform for further development.

 

Attached you will find a detailed description of the proposed Symposium and Art Exhibition as well as a brief history of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA). Invitations are currently being sent to a group of leading European and American curators, critics and educators in order to make the Symposium a truly international event. Needless to say, CAFA undertakes to pay the air fare and cost of accommodation in Beijing of international participants for the duration of the symposium.

 

In preparation for this symposium, professors and students of the Experimental Art Department at CAFA conducted a one-year study on Current Conditions of Experimental Art Education at China’s Fine Art Institutes surveying about 20 representative institutes including national art institutes, university art colleges, and regional art institutes. Based on the survey, we will examine existing issues, share experiences, and celebrate achievements at the symposium. The goal is to reach consensus on many academic issues in this field so that we can all move forward. In the context of global cultural diversity, we shall keep Chinese traditional culture in mind and utilize academic, institutional and theoretical beliefs to promote orderly and effective development in experimental art education.
