《山水谱》构思源于中国《芥子园画谱》山水临本。
中国《芥子园画谱》采取分类的方式,将中国山水画中的山、石、云、水、树、人物、飞禽、走兽等类型化、程式化。教授中通常按简、繁程序步步循环;先掌握山水画中各部份的技法,然后按山水画构图的章法组成画面,于是,你就可以成为一个“山水画家”了。这种程式化的培养模式在中国沿袭至今。
我的作品《山水谱》利用这一模式,为了帮助更多的绘画爱好者进入“山水画领域”,按《芥子园画谱》中的山、石、树、水等等各种图谱符号原型,进行放大和缩小,做成近百件“零配件”,并使用工业材料成型为立体形状;在一个可供操作的模型台上,这些山水“零配件”由操纵者(观众)任意操作或置放,图谱的“零配件”提供了一个方便的途径,我们就像做拼图游戏一样,按个人的意图进行拼置,我们成为“山水画家”的过程将变得简单而有趣。
On Landscape Manual

The Landscape Manual was inspired by the Manual of the Mustard Seed Garden that was used for teaching how to paint landscape.
The Chinese Manual of Mustard Seed Garden is an old classic which categorized the landscape painting of Chinese painting, as rock painting, clouds painting, river and brook painting, tree painting, figure painting, bird and animal painting and the kind for teaching purpose. The teaching process was step by step from the simple to the complex, its goal was to teach the techniques of each component in landscape painting, and then to make a composition according to the principles of landscape painting, then, one can become a landscape painter. This formulaic teaching continued until this day.
My work Landscape Manual employed the same structure, to facilitate more art lovers into the landscape world. I have blown up or minimized mountains, rocks, tress and rivers and various pictorial symbols according to the old classic Manual of Mustard Seed Garden, and draw nearly one hundred of “parts,” and used industrial materials to make them three-dimensional objects. On the same board these “parts” can be operated by my audiences or placed onto a new location conveniently, as a jigsaw puzzle play. This is to say the audience of the work becomes also a maker of landscape painting, that’s funny, interesting and far-reaching.
