魏青吉的作品是用各种符号和各种手法一点一点堆积起来的。它们所表现的是现实体验的某个瞬间,某种无法诉诸语言的情愫。在这些充满感性体验的画面中,甚至有某种迷幻的宗教感。实际上, 在当代现实条件下, 人们不断地经历、体验,同时也不断地抛弃、忘却。而魏青吉则能将所有个人的生活与情感体验用丰富的语言记录和表达出来,并且使作品充溢、弥漫着一种私秘性的气息。在他的象“日记”一样的作品中,有一些图像符号是可以辩识的,它们与公共的经验有关,而更多的图像在意义上是不确定的,它们只是某种感觉的载体。然而,如果说有什么东西刺激着画家的创造和思考的话,那还是图像。对图像的敏感,对图像的转接是这些情绪化意象出现的核心力量。

A wide range of skills and various sorts of symbols may be found in Wei Qingji's works, which intend to present audiences some moment of experience or some senses that are difficult to be depicted by any human language. In those scenes a certain religious sense is sending strongly to the audiences. As we know we are always in the process of experiencing, feeling, discarding and forgetting every minute in our life, but Wei, as a painter, is unique for he can present those moment with his pen brush to the people, and his presentation is strong in a private magic sense sending. In his piece The Diary those symbols can be recognized clearly by audiences as they relate to common life experience closely, yet most of his other symbols are uncertain in meaning but a strong sense always sending. The painter is inspired by images and he in fact is so sensitive
for image, and it is the transformation of image that forms the key power of his works.
