后记
首先要感谢当代艺术家，如果没有他们一直来的信任支持，就不会有我为他们的写真。此间有不少艺术素养、思想与见地皆不济的论者，因为无法摆脱嫉妒与奴性，对中国当代艺术家在国际上和画史上所拥有的实力与地位缺乏真切了解，就连艺术本质乃独立自由而非歌功颂德或批判揭露之附庸这样的常识都模糊，所以他们至今还仍然愚蠢地以为中国的当代艺术不如欧美，大师更是无望。虽然因为各种缘故，还有几位杰出的艺术家未能进入，但我可以在此大胆预测：本图录所出现的当代艺术家里，将不止一位必定成为他年国际公认之大师。能跟踪拍摄他们实为幸事。
再要感谢今日美术馆，如果没有他们的热情相邀，就不会有“当代艺术家写真展”和这本图录。早在一年多前，就着手筹备了。刚开始的时候，并未想到挑一张或数张照片，请艺术家们添加上他们的个人符号与风貌，但有一点却一直很确定：这个展览要突出的不是摄影，而是当代艺术家。“写真”两字是子康馆长提议的，我觉得很有当下的意思，如果叫“肖像”也太显陈旧了，因为这五十位艺术家还都在往前推进自己的艺术历程，并不是功成名就便原地踏步的老朽。此后，就有了艺术家们在照片上的添加，非但因此把惯常误解“写真”的那点不严肃给滤清了，也使展览的内涵更为丰富。
随着数码技术的日新月异，摄影的门槛好像越来越低了，但事实上因为图像的爆炸与泛滥，使人的视觉越来越麻木，要想挑一张能够留人耐看的照片已是难上加难，所以门槛不是越来越低，相反倒是越来越高了。我事摄影，因出发点之不同，对于诸如手法技术以及太弱智的构图色调之类从未上心——现有条件足矣；对于诸如“新闻、时尚、影楼、艺术”等四大摄影门类也是疏而远之；对于不少摄影师把任何人都变成他镜下装腔作势之傀儡的习性更是警惕排斥。
仗着对当代艺术家作品气质和生活性情的深刻了解，以及上述对摄影的思考和把握，我拍艺术家时，几乎全是任其自然，甚少事前设想并要求他们怎么做。因为艺术家与娱乐明星或广告模特毕竟不是一个层次，他们所拥有的那一股强劲的“内心力量”，也不是随便摆个样子就能显现，惟于不觉眼前镜头而放松自在之际，方可流露于神情举止之间。我相信收入在这本图录里的照片，既可窥艺术家“内心力量”之一斑，还能有一种与艺术家作品间的呼应，值得呈献给读者们吧？！
如果办展览与出图录已可算个事儿，那么真的要申明这不是单靠努力就能成就的，归根究底实在是出于我的顺服交托与他的引领保佑，所以除了前面一而再的感谢，这再而三要感谢的，仍然是我主耶稣基督。

Chinese contemporary artists have made great contribution to the
contemporary culture. Nearly three decades of effort and struggle, the Chinese contemporary artists have enhanced the international status of China's contemporary culture with their unique, localized and catching time works of art, won the glory for the Chinese people, composed a dazzling history that the predecessors have never dreamt of.
<Contemporary Artists Photo Album> is regarded as the salute to the Chinese contemporary artists.
Xu Juyi as the editor in chief of <Track Art>, he has been tracking and taking photos of Chinese contemporary artists. The collection includes
hundreds of thousands photos. A fine selection of photos has been put in the <Contemporary Artists Photo Album>.
As an integrated artist, Xu Juyi has a rich visual experience of arts, he is capable of capturing every true moment at will with his deep understanding of artist's work and life, beyond the "professional" photography constraint, the works of Xu Juyi truly and completely reproduce the style of
contemporary artists, and the works are recognized unanimously by the contemporary artists as well.
<Contemporary Artists Photo Album> also collects some special photos, that is each artist has painted his unique symbols on one or a few photos. to illustrate the particular meaning of "Photo Album": the audience is able to recognize the artists and their arts.
The representing artists in <Contemporary Artists photo Album> nearly indicate every representative of various art categories, painting, sculpture, installation, performance, video and photograph. An unprecedented scale and a huge lineup is indeed a grand contemporary art event. <Contemporary Artists photo Album> definitely is an important and indispensable pictorial data of contemporary art history.
