11月1日，平行线画廊将推出艺术家胡勤武的个人作品系列《幻象》。此次展览是胡勤武对抽象艺术的一次全面、缜密的理解和阐释。
毕业于泰安师专美术系油画专业的胡勤武，在色彩、造型和材料运用上极为精细且独具匠心。在抽象艺术风格上有着多重的阐释，对于愤世嫉俗的现实主义者或者走上流行艺术道路的这一代艺术家们是一种极为有趣的选择。他的作品不仅仅给人强烈的视觉冲击力，而是更注重内在思想情感的颠沛。
《幻象》系列作品的策展人托尼•苏格特指出，他的笔墨和多种媒介形式创作出的艺术作品特别“蕴含了一股力量和气势，充分展现了艺术家早期扎实的中国油墨运用功底。在黑色和灰色的背景下，他运用的一点一划都极富变化，这绝对是一种力量和精妙的绝美展现。”
胡勤武的此次作品不久前在中国美术馆展出，明年在英国和澳大利亚还将届时举办他的个人画展。此外，他刚刚赢得了向北京和墨尔本两地的国际饭店提供艺术作品的机会。
《幻象》作品系列展是由《中国艺术项目》（简称C.A.P.）负责策划和展出的。其项目负责人托尼•苏格特本人也是一位当代艺术家，特别热衷于支持和挖掘中国新兴的艺术家们。

Hu Qinwu’s solo show Phantasms opens at Two Lines Gallery on November 1. The exhibition will showcase Hu’s careful and considered execution of abstract works.
A graduate in oil painting from Tai’an University, Hu uses his medium to deftly explore the possibilities of line, tone, form, texture and the subtle relationships that develop between them. The abstract style itself, an interesting choice for an artist of a generation who could easily have gone down the cynical realist or pop art path, lends itself to multiple interpretations. The works are not shock value attacks of colour, instead they are sensitive compositions emanating with warmth and feeling.
His ink and multi-media works in particular ‘have a strength and authority that can only come from a knowledge of Chinese ink work studied at an early age, the myriad patterns of dots and marks vibrate across rich grounds of black and grey – a wonderful play on both strength and subtly,’ comments Tony Scott, curator of Phantasms.
Hu Qinwu’s work has been shown in recent exhibitions at the Beijing National Gallery, with solo exhibitions on view later in London and Australia. He has also received major commissions for hotels in Beijing and Melbourne.
Phantasms will be brought to you by China Art Projects (C.A.P.), headed up by Tony Scott, himself a contemporary artist particularly passionate about the support and promotion of emerging Chinese artists.

Education:
Huqinwu was graduated from Oil Painting Specialty of Art Department in Taian Normal Academy. He has been studying at Material Art Studio of Oil Painting Department in Central Institute of Fine Arts since 2006.
Exhibition and Collection:
In 2003, his art work ‘Walking III’ was awarded the excellence prize in ‘Feeling & Testing --- the Second Small Size Painting Exhibition in Shandong Province’, which was selected in the ‘Small Size Painting Exhibition in Shandong Province’, held by Beijing International Arts Center Art Gallery. In 2007, he received the Best Innovative Idea Prize in the Forth Studios Open Day Exhibition at the Central Institute of Fine Arts. In the same year, he joined the ‘Color, Gather’ Nine Persons Contemporary Art Fair in Quac Art Space. In 2008, he joined the Art Work on Paper Exhibition in Two Lines Gallery.
