撰《新山海经》的缘起现在想来已茫然无绪,但其大略,观世间怪乱之象,慨叹颇多,不能释怀,乃以混沌无智之眼观今之奇巧之物,喻之以异兽之形貌,借之以讽世。今人之以智巧探索物界,自微观以至外空,心思耳目之所至,无所不用其极也,只是庞博浩渺,个人之有限生命只能执其一端,然世界在吾人眼中裂为知识符号的碎片,茫茫无涯,个人面对这样的世界,只感到巨大的虚无,吾人之精神亦无完整统一立足之地,陷入惶惶的辩解与争斗之中,此为现代文明之幸耶？不幸耶？这是见仁见智的事情了,我姑妄撰之,聊以自娱,列位姑妄观之,如能莞尔会心,吾于自娱之外还能娱人,算是额外的收获了。反正都是姑妄撰之了,也就姑妄以经名之罢,幻生中幻事耳,无需深究了。
Qiu Anxiong’s Statement
Why I present people the work New Book about Mountains and River is that I have been experienced much chaos, conflicts and absurdities of our society and could not be released from my heart long time. So I took some objects of our age in my pieces, which was viewed by my unwise eyes to be like strange animals. I think it is squib taunt to our age. I am always strange for our actions to explore the world with our so-called wisdom and intellecture, it is so ridiculous that we have already divided the world into all kinds of symbols upon which I think there is only result that have people lost in the symbols rather than making clear understanding to the world. Life is too short and individual life is too weak to face the unlimited world. The way led us to the symbol world is not the right way. It can lead us to a location where we feel more confused. Is this our contemporary civilization? What a culture! This is only my opinion, if it can entertain you I will feel happy and that’s my additional harvest, otherwise, I will feel no pity for I think my own thinking way which may have no any relation to any other. That’s it.
